Greg Rife is a an emerging concert saxophonist and educator who has established a diverse performing and teaching career. Greg currently serves as Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he teaches saxophone and music theory. Recent solo performance highlights include concerto performances with the University of Illinois Wind Symphony, Lockport Township High School Symphonic Band, and a world premier of Zachery Meier’s “Catching Light” for solo alto saxophone at the 2020 North American Saxophone Alliance conference in Tempe, AZ. As the tenor saxophonist of the award winning Colere Quartet, Greg has received awards including the prestigious gold medal at the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, has performed live on Chicago’s 98.7 WFMT, and appeared in music education programming on Northwest Indiana’s WNIT Public Television. Greg holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance from the University of Iowa and degrees in music education and saxophone performance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
